WINDOW TINT

CUT THE HEAT.KEEP THE TICKET.

Tint installed to Florida's legal limits. So it cools the car without costing you a stop on the side of I-4.

TINT ISN'T ABOUTLOOKING DARKER.

In Orlando a parked car hits 130°F inside on an ordinary afternoon. Film on the glass is the only thing between that sun and everything in your car — including you.

🌡️

Heat

The A/C stops fighting the sun and starts cooling the car. You feel it most in the first five minutes after you get in — the part everybody hates.

☀️

UV

Quality film blocks essentially all of the UV that cracks a dashboard, fades seats and ages the skin on your left arm. That's the damage you don't notice until it's done.

👁️

Privacy

What's on the seat stops being an invitation. This is the one most work trucks and vans come in for — tools and equipment shouldn't be on display in a parking lot.

🔆

Glare

Low sun on I-4 at 6 PM, and headlights behind you at night. Less squinting is a safety feature before it's a comfort one.

THE PART MOST SHOPSDON'T TELL YOU.

Florida writes the limits into law, and the officer on the road carries a meter. Tint that's too dark isn't a style choice — it's a citation, and you pay twice: once for the ticket and once to have the film stripped off.

Florida legal limits

VLT means Visible Light Transmission — how much light gets through. Higher number, lighter film. These are minimums: you can go lighter, never darker.

WindowSedanSUV / van / truck
WindshieldNon-reflective film above the AS-1 line only
Front side windows28% VLT28% VLT
Back side windows15% VLT6% VLT
Rear window15% VLT6% VLT
Florida Statutes §316.2951–§316.2956 (the windshield rule is §316.2952). Reflectivity is capped too: no more than 25% on front side windows, 35% on the rear sides. Medical exemptions exist and are issued by the state, not by us — if you have one, bring it and we'll cut to it.

We don't tint windshields. In Florida the only film allowed on a windshield is the band above the AS-1 line — the sun strip. Anything below that line is illegal, whoever offers to install it and whatever they call the film.

You'll find shops that will do it anyway. What you're actually buying there is a citation, plus the cost of scraping the film back off. We'd rather tell you no now than have you come back angry later.

WHAT ITCOSTS.

Real prices, not "starting at". Two films: carbon is the everyday one, ceramic rejects more heat and carries a lifetime warranty. Both are installed the same way — every window down, every edge shaped to the glass.

Carbon — 5-year warranty

Solid heat and UV rejection, no signal interference, and it never turns purple the way the old dyed films did.

PackageCar / coupe / 4-door truckSUV / wagon / minivan
Two front windows$75quoted
All four doors + rear window$225quoted
Full coverage — all side and rear glass$275$375
Every package covers the side and rear glass plus any extra cab windows. Nothing on this list touches the windshield below the AS-1 line — read on for why.

Nano-ceramic — lifetime warranty

The one to get if the car sits in the sun. Rejects noticeably more heat at the same darkness, so you can stay legal on the front windows and still feel the difference.

Two front windows$120quoted
All four doors + rear window$299$350
Full coverage — all side and rear glass$439$490

STRAIGHTANSWERS.

Will it get me a ticket?

Not if it's cut to the numbers above, and that's how we cut it. Florida allows a ±3% tolerance on the meter, so we don't install right at the edge of legal — we leave room, because film reads slightly darker over glass that already has a factory tint in it. If you want darker than the law allows, we'll tell you no and explain why.

My windshield film is almost clear — isn't that fine?

No, and this one surprises people. Florida's rule for the windshield isn't about how dark the film is — it's about where it is. Anything below the AS-1 line is out, at any light level, clear ceramic included. A 75% film that you can barely see is in exactly the same position as a limo-dark one. Above the line, the sun strip is legal and we'll install it.

How long does it take?

Most cars are a few hours. It's not the film that takes the time, it's the glass: every window comes down, gets cleaned and gets the film shaped to it. Rushing that is exactly how you end up with bubbles and lifted edges six months later.

Why does it look hazy or bubbly right after?

That's water still curing out between the film and the glass, and it's normal. It clears on its own — a few days in Florida sun, longer if it's cold or the car sits in a garage. Don't roll the windows down for the first few days and don't pick at anything.

Can you take off old tint that's turning purple?

Yes, and that's a real job of its own — the purple ones have failed adhesive and come off in pieces, plus the rear window has defroster lines that a careless removal will destroy. We quote removal separately because sometimes it's more work than the new install.

Does it work on a work van with no back windows?

Then there's nothing to tint back there — and that's fine, because the two front windows are where the heat and the sun on your arm actually come from. Fleet vans are a big part of what we do, and tint pairs with the graphics on the same visit.

Who does the work?

Our own installers, in our shop in Orlando. If something isn't right, you come back here and we fix it — you're not chasing a mobile installer who was in town that week.
